Got an E-mail
account?
Why having an E-mail account?
E-mail is the best way of establishing
relationships in todays intensive world,
accelerated for the constant technological
advances. E-mail allows you to stay I
contact in an economic way, and without the
geographical location of the persons been a
significant matter. |
|
|
If in the real world, each person has an address in which they
usually inhabit; in the cyberspace, you only get your own place
if you get an E-mail account.
E-mail has become the cheapest way
of keeping in touch with both, known and unknown people (work, academic or fraternal relationships) and been able of getting a
diverse amount of information with great comfort.
Whatever the reason, not having an E-mail in the first decade of
the XXI century, is a deadly sin, and a significant delay in
your relationship with technology which is improving every
single day.
Why having an E-mail? because it allows you to receive
and store information, making yourself able of accessing it from
any PC, anywhere in the world where you have an
Internet
connection available (wireless or conventional).
|
|
Nowadays, many services, both free
and charged, require you to have an
E-mail account. Many
organizations and institutions, provide their members with
institutional E-mail accounts; because
E-mail has become to them
a way of official and recognized communication. |
|
 |
This entire phenomenon of the last
fifteen years can be understood for the simplicity and low cost
of the E-mail management, that has been able of displacing other
ways of personal communication. Today, there are several ways of
getting and E-mail account, been the most popular ones for the
constant innovation they perform on their products, enterprises
that provide free E-mail accounts. These companies are: GOOGLE,
with its GMaIL; YaHOO, with its
YaHOO MaIL and MICROSOFT, with
its WINDOWS LIVE HOTMaIL. |
an E-mail account, has the
following format: [email protected], the previous part to the
at sign , indicates the user (your personal identification) and
the posterior part makes reference to the server in which the
sent and received messages are hosted. If you are curious, the
usage of the at symbol (@) was chosen because it is a character
that does not appear in anyones name.
How to manage an E-mail account? The first thing you
should learn are the three basic functions for which the E-mail
was designed for: writing, sending and receiving messages: |
|
 Writing: click in Write
or New button; you might write anything you would like to
express.
Send: after having written what you wanted to express, you
have to write down the addressee(s) and then write the Subject
(so the receptor can get a quick first impression on what the
message is about).
Receive: there is no action the user has to take part
of, all the messages will be received in the inbox, it is
something as your personal post office box, and this is where
you are going to select the E-mail you want to read.
|
|
|
Finally, it must be said that E-mail also allows you to share
every type of files with your contacts, but be aware that this
is limited by each E-mail servers characteristics, such as the
size of each sent message, the maximum size attachments can
contain and the available storage capacity for each users
account.
To sum up, the best piece of advice I can give you would be: if
you do not have an E-mail account, do not wait longer and go get
one, you do not need more than follow the registering steps and
select a user name.
What are you waiting for? Start communicating through an E-mail.
