Mac OS X LEOPaRD
The Mac OS X
operative systems are a line of the
famous american company apple, they are
based in the Unix systems and its interface
was created by apple, who named it aqua,
because they have as an objective to add
color and more attractive visualizations.
besides, it uses an X11 windows server, in
which multiple windows can be opened without
using the operative system resources. |

The operative system was launched in October
26th in 2007, as the sixth version of the
Mac Os line; technically, it is the 10.5
version and was presented for the first time
in the Worldwide Developers Conference WWDC
of the year 2005. 300 hundred functions have
been added, and among the most important one
we can find the following:
a function denominated as �Watch me do�.,
which is used to record the user�s actions
while he is working, and can be used as some
sort of tutorial or scholastic material for
students or for work, or can even be used in
PDF or in some multimedia editions.

version, which is useful to be able to
access to personal data of your PC from the

�boot camp�. is a function which allows
fragmenting the drive in other units, to be
able to install another
operative system
such as Windows or
Linux, it counts with an
assistant that will guide you step by step
to be able to access to it through the
Leopard. |

�Time machine�., which is a very useful
utility, allows you to go back to a previous
time in your machines life, so you are able
of restoring lost files and it also lets you
restore the operative system if some error
has occurred in the Leopard. |

The Dashboard has been improved, a very known utility in the
Mac
system, which allows you to save applications called widgets;
these applications allow the user to access faster to an
application which is commonly used or a quick action. It also
permits the quick access to some web page or to look for
something, another software called �Dashcode�., which creates the
possibility, for the developers, to make their own widgets. |

another improvement that can be seen in the operative system, is
that a project of the Sun Microsystems company has been
integrated to it, a graphic interface which helps in improving
the management of the operative system resources while a heavy
programs is running.
The Leopard also has new drivers which support the new formats
such as HD, DVD and blue Ray, called UDF, but the player will
only be able to play them if they have been created by DVD
Studio Pro, due to the fact that Mac is really careful regarding
other formats that are not theirs.
New security functions have been added, such as Random
Libraries, which allows changing the location of some of the
system libraries and also, the firewall which blocks external
intrusions and the management of new incoming connections, have
been improved.
This version of the Leopard is available online and can also be
ordered, let�s not let aside that in order to be able to install
it, it is crucial to have a processor which is: Intel, PowerPC
G5 or PowerPC G4, none of them can be from less than 867 MHz.
